Two people while walking along J. Borja St. in Tagbilaran City had their cellphones snatched by a minor who was later rounded up by police and another suspect on Tuesday night.

Police identified the victims as 38-year old Bernardo Remolador, a resident of Barangay Mansasa, Tagbilaran City and Ralph Quibol, a native of Leyte.

The victims were reportedly walking from a restaurant along J. Borja St. and upon reaching Holy Spirit School, the two suspects came up from behind them and snatched their cellphones.

Stolen from Remolador and Quibol were a Samsung Prime and an unspecified type of Lenovo phone.

The suspects immediately fled the scene but were identified by bystanders who witnessed the snatching incident.

Information from witnesses led Tagbilaran City police to one of the suspects who is of minor age and the recovery of the victims’ stolen cellphones.

Authorities are considering filing charges against the minor and circumventing the Juvenile Justice Act of 2006 which exempts minors from criminal liability. (Weli Maestrado)
