The police on Monday issued a warning against a group of pickpockets who recently arrived in Bohol to allegedly conduct theft operations particularly in Ubay.

According to Roland Desiree Lavisto, Ubay police chief, one of the suspects was seen through a closed-circuit television camera stealing from a female customer of the GBD convenience store in the town.

Lavisto said that the incident happened on Thursday last week but the police officer did not identify the victim for security reasons as the suspect remains at large.

The suspect has also not yet been identified but Lavisto speculated that he may be from Cebu.

The police chief also noted that the suspect is travelling with a female companion who is likely an accomplice in his theft operations.

The two may also be a part of a group which is likely to victimize residents in other towns including Tagbilaran CIty, added Lavisto.

Since having obtained the image of the suspect through CCTV, the police has been urging the public to report information on the whereabouts of the suspect to authorities. (Allen Doydora)
