The provincial government this week delivered on its promise to extend financial aid to each of the 1,109 barangays in the province.
Provincial Admistrator Alfonso Damalerio said during the weekly â€œKita ug ang Gobernadorâ€ program on Friday that a total P22.2 million was earmarked for the initiative.
The budget was raised from the initially planned P10,000 in barangay aid for each village to P20,000.
Liga ng mga Barangay Bohol chapter president Romulo Cepedoza confirmed the barangay captainsâ€™ receipt of the amount during the organizationâ€™s Provincial Liga Congress held this week.
For his part, Governor Edgar Chatto said that the barangay plays a big role in the progress of local government units as he cited the importance of the released financial assistance. (Rey Tutas)
