A frustrated homicide case was filed against a man who surrendered to police in Loay on Monday for allegedly stabbing a fisherman.
Suspect Flaviano Okit, 33, who is resident of Barangay Tocdog Dacu, Loay, presented himself before policemen in the town after the alleged stabbing on Saturday.
The incident reportedly took place along Causeway Drive, Barangay Poblacion, Tagbiliaran City.
Police said that Okit who is also a fisherman admitted to having stabbed one Dioscoro Santander, a 42-year-old resident of Tocdog Dacu, Loay, in the stomach.
Santander was rushed to the Governor Celestino Gallares Memorial Hospital in Tagbilaran City while Okit reportedly fled the crime scene.
The victim continues to recuperate from his injuries at the said hospital. (Weli Maetsrado)
