The president of the Philippine Councilors League (PCL) in Bohol has been nominated to run for a national post in the organization for municipal legislators.
San Isidro Councilor and Ex-Officio Provincial Board Member Gloria Gementiza expressed intent to run for island vice president during the PCL’s elections at the World Trade Center in Pasay City on Thursday.
She will be going up against Bacolod City Councilor Wilson Gamboa Jr.
If elected, Gementiza will be the island vice president for Visayas which has over 3,500 member-councilors.
The 42-year-old lawmaker is reportedly being supported by the group of PCL-Ilocos Sur president Luis â€Chavit†Singson and Davao City Councilor Danny Dayanghirang who are running unopposed as president and chairman, respectively, of the organization.
Gementiza was previously elected member of PCL Visayas’ board of directors.
She is the chair of the PB’s committee on properties, enterprise and related undertakings and committee on culture and arts, and vice-chairperson of the committee on barangay affairs.
According to PCL Bohol, 257 councilors in the province are expected to attend the group’s three-day national elections which will be held from March 8 to March 10. (Rey Tutas)
