A pregnant woman and a male companion previously convicted of murder were arrested by police inside a lodge in Tagbilaran City during a drug buy-bust operation on Thursday afternoon.
Operatives of the Tagbilaran City police Drug Enforcement Unit carried out the buy-bust against Koreta Jet Jurado, 29, after she was allegedly spotted selling illegal drugs along J.S. Torralba Street.
According to SPO4 Yolando Bagotchay, Jurado was earlier acquitted of a drug charge and is included in the city police’s drug watch list.
She was first monitored by police intelligence officers in December last year and continued to sell illegal drugs until her arrest, Bagotchay said.
Police said that Jurado sold shabu worth P500 to a police poseur-buyer during the staged drug transaction.
After the sale, Jurado reportedly ran towards the Cliff Daniels Lodge as she noticed that she sold shabu to an undercover cop.
The operatives immediately caught up with the suspect inside a room of the lodge where they also chanced upon suspect Adonis Geguillo, 28, who served time for stabbing a person dead in Barangay Mansasa.
Police also found inside the room 11 packets of suspected shabu and drug paraphernalia.
Both suspects are now detained at the Tagbilaran City lock-up jail while charges for violations against Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 are to be filed against them.
