Tagbilaran school loses gadgets to burglar

A public school in Tagbilaran City lost several pieces of a gadgets including a laptop to a still unidentified burglar, police said.

The assistant principal of the Doctor Cecilio Putong National High School (DCPNHS), Melchor Daniel, Jr., 48, reported the incident to police immediately after discovering that the items were lost on Thursday.

Daniel told authorities that the suspect carted away one Lenovo laptop, an LG mobile phone and USB flash drive.

According to Daniel, the suspect broke into his office and stole a sling bag which contained the items.

The DCPNHS immediately implemented tighter security measures following the incident particularly as over 12,000 delegates to the Central Visayas Regional Athletic Association (CVIRAA) are set to arrive in Bohol before a week-long meet which starts Saturday.

The school will be the quarters of some CVIRAA atheletes from Cebu.

Meanwhile, police units of the Tagbilaran City police’s theft and robbery section have been deployed to investigate the case. (wm)
