A former barangay captain and his son, also a former village official, were arrested for illegal possession of firearms and an explosive after police served search warrants at their residences in Guindulman.

They were arrested in simultaneous raids conducted by the Guindulman Police Station and the 701st Regional Mobile Force Brigade 7 at their houses in Barangay Tabunoc on Tuesday morning.

According to police, they confiscated from former barangay captain Juanito Gono, 67, a .38 revolver and live ammunition at his house in Purok 5, Tabunoc.
