A 62-year-old woman fell prey to suspected “akyat-bahay” burglars who carted away gadgets and jewelry worth P150,000 from her home on Saturday.
Victim Concepcion Milay, 62, told authorities that no one was home during the burglary of her house in Barangay Tiptip, Tagbilaran City as she and her son were in Antequera for the town’s fiesta celebration.
Milay said that she immediately noticed that her house was ransacked when she arrived home with her belongings scattered.
The house’s main door and another door on the second floor were both forcibly opened, she said.
Milay told authorities that the burglars stole two Lenovo laptops and a set of platinum bracelets with pearls which were worth P150,000.
Meanwhile, the Tagbilaran City police’s theft and robbery section and intelligence section were tasked to conduct follow-up investigations on the case. (wm)
