A suspected drug dealer and his alleged associate in the drug trade were arrested in a police anti-drug operation in Tagbilaran City.
Police apprehended Mark “Negro” Miguel, the operation’s target, and Mark Adtuon, both residents of Barangay Taloto in Tagbilaran, through a buy-bust operation on Tuesday afternoon.
Operatives led by Sr. Insp. Vincent Dumaguing spotted Miguel as he was peddling illegal drugs near his residence in Barangay Taloto, police said.
Authorities then subjected Miguel to a sting operation which led to seizure of P76,700 worth of shabu.
According to police, Miguel set up the transaction with the poseur-buyer but it was Adtuon who handed over the illegal drugs.
Adtuon and Miguel men were immediately arrested.
Both men are now detained at the Tagbilaran City Police Station lock-up facility.
Charges for violating Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 are set to be filed against them. (wm)
