Ex-con, 1 other nabbed in Tagbilaran anti-drug op

A man previously convicted of murder and an Oplan Tokhang surrenderer were arrested for alleged sale of shabu during a police an anti-illegal drugs operation in Tagbilaran City.

Police said that the alleged drug pushers were caught in possession of shabu worth P88,400.

Alexis Padimdim, 23, of Tagbilaran City and ex-convict Amancio Patenio, 28, of Panglao were spotted by personnel of the Tagbilaran City police’s intelligence section at past 5 p.m. on Monday.

Police operatives, under the supervision of Tagbilaran police chief Supt. Patricio Degay, Jr., then set up a buy-bust operation against the duo along M. Capayas Street in Barangay Bool.

The suspects allegedly sold shabu worth P500 to a poseur-buyer leading to their immediate arrest.

However, both men claimed that the seized drugs were only left with them by a person.

They could not identify the individual but they said that he lives in Poblacion 3 in Tagbilaran City.

Padimdim and Patenio remained under the custody of the Tagbilaran police pending the filing of charhes against them for violations against the Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002. (wm)
