‘Akyat Bahay’ member caught on CCTV stealing from seaman’s Tagbilaran home

A noted thief who was allegedly caught on closed circuit television (CCTV) camera stealing cash from the home of a seaman in Tagbilaran City was arrested by police.

Samuel Bertumin, an alleged “Akyat Bahay” member, was apprehended for the burglary after police immediately identified him through a CCTV footage provided by the victim.

Police identified the victim as Gilbert Boldo, 35, of Barangay Manga in Tagbilaran.

Bertumin was allegedly seen in the video as he entered the Boldo residence through a computer shop connected to the house.

Boldo reported to police that the suspect swiped his bag which contained P15,000 cash and seafarer documents on Monday.

The responding police recovered the bag during Bertumin’s arrest but this was already empty.

Bertumin was also allegedly caught in possession of a firearm during apprehension.

He is set to be charged with theft and violation against the Commission on Elections gun ban. (wm)
