The Land Transportation Office (LTO) on Wednesday inaugurated its Jagna District Office located in Garcia Hernandez town.

Victor Caindec, LTO 7 director, and Garcia Hernandez Mayor Tita Gallantes led the inauguration of the facility in Barangay West Canayaon.

Senatorial bet and former special assistant to the President Bong Go was invited as the event’s guest of honor but was not able to attend reportedly due to conflict in his flight schedule.

Go is also expected to join a political rally which will be attended by President Rodrigo Duterte in Garcia Hernandez on Wednesday night.

Caindec said that Go, while serving as SAP, was instrumental in the allocation of additional funds for the LTO.

According to Caindec, they chose to hold the inauguration today in time for Duterte’s visit to Bohol.

The new LTO district office is expected to provide convenience to a slew of residents in Garcia Hernandez and nearby towns as they will no longer have to travel to Tagbilaran City for transactions with the agency.

For his part, Garcia Hernandez municipal administrator Nilo Salise said that the local government unit spent P5 million for the renovation of the office space which is owned by the LGU.

Caindec said that the office is replete with all the necessary equipment used for issuing student’s permits, new licenses, license renewal and renewal of vehicle registration.

The LTO Jagna District Office was earlier transferred to Garcia Hernandez after the agency lost its previous rented office space in Jagna after the Land Bank of the Philippines started to use the area. (A. Doydora)
