The Tagbilaran City College (TCC) which will open in August will be accepting students who are not residents of Tagbilaran City.

Tagbilaran City Administrator Leonides Borja said that students from the various towns of Bohol and even those outside the province may enroll at the TCC given that they are qualified.

“Dili man mahimo na taga Tagbilaran ra kay dili g’yud dapat e-exclusive . Anywhere in the country, mao nay mandate di g’yud ka kabalibad. Everyone is accepted basta mo-qualify lang ka,” he said.

However, Borja noted that Tagbilaran residents, particularly those from poor families, will be prioritize in the granting of scholarships.

“Gi-priority man ni Mayor [Baba Yap] kadtong mga way ikagasto intaw’n,” he added.

Last week, the Commission on Higher Education issued licenses for the TCC to offer three courses, BS Tourism Management, BS Office Administration and BS Entrepreneurship.

Classes will start on August 5.

The facility which is only partially completed can accommodate around 150 students for now.

According to Borja, the school’s classrooms will be fully air-conditioned.

Construction of the second and third floors of the facility meanwhile is still ongoing.
