A 62-year-old man was killed after he plunged into a dried up creek as his motorcycle fell off from a bridge in Danao town on Thursday afternoon.

Police identified the fatality as Pedro Cuaba, a resident of Remedios, Danao.

Staff Sgt. Genesis Piezas of the Danao Police Station said that while Cuaba was heading towards the central district of the town he lost control of his motorcycle along Hibubawan Bridge in Barangay Poblacion.

The motorcycle slammed into the bridge’s railing causing Cuaba to be thrown away into the creek due to the impact.

According to Piezas, Cuaba may have hit his head on a rock causing severe injuries.

The victim was still rushed to the Governor Celestino Gallares Memorial Hospital in Tagbilaran City where he was treated.

He however succumbed to his injuries shortly after arriving.

Based on police investigation, Cuaba was under the influence of alcohol during the accident.

Cuaba was wearing a helmet but this was not enough to break his fall, said Piezas. (AD)
