14 quakes hit Bohol in 20 days in July

At least 14 quakes jolted Bohol within 20 days in the month of July, based on data from the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Philvolcs).

The first quake to jolt Bohol this month was recorded at 12:59 a.m. on July 2 which was at magnitude 5.9 and with a depth of 554 kilometers, and its epicenter traced at 51 kilometers south by 29 degrees from east of Lila.

The last two successive quakes were by the Philvolcs on July 22- -the first at 11:51 p.m. and the second at 11:55 p.m.

On July 22, the first one was a magnitude 2 quake with a depth of 24 kilometers which epicenter the Phivolcs traced at two kilometers south at 84 degrees west of Danao.

The last one felt in the month of July was at magnitude 2.4 which depth was 20 kilometers and its epicenter traced at 14 kilometers north by 73 degrees from east of Anda.

These last two quakes followed the three daily quakes since July 19.

On July 21, Phivolcs recorded a magnitude 1.9 quake at 6:56 p.m. which had a depth of 33 kilometers and its epicenter traced at 12 kilometers south by 22 degrees from east of Sagbayan.

This followed the magnitude 2.8 quake recorded at 3:08 a.m. on July 20 which had a depth of five kilometers and its epicenter traced at nine kilometers north by 60 degrees from west of Buenavista.

Phivolcs recorded two quakes on July 19- -a magnitude 2.8 at 7:06 a.m. and a magnitude 1.8 at 10:02 a.m.

The first one had a depth of six kilometers and with epicenter at two kilometers south by 28 degrees from west of Sagbayan also.

The second one had a depth of 19 kilometers and with epicenter at three kilometers north by 54 degrees from west of Pilar.

On July 14, Phivolcs recorded three quakes- -a magnitude 3.2 at 12:32 a.m., a magnitude 2.4 at 3:41 a.m., and a magnitude 2.3 at 11:27 a.m.

The first one had a depth of eight kilometers and with epicenter at seven kilometers north by 7 degrees from west of Danao.

The second one had a depth of 23 kilometers and with epicenter at six kilometers north by 23 degrees from west of Batuan.

The third one had a depth of nine kilometers and with epicenter at four kilometers south by 49 degrees from east of Duero.

Three daily quakes preceded from July 9 to July 11.

The July 9 quake, recorded at 7:52 a.m., was at magnitude 1.8 with a depth of 35 kilometers and its epicenter traced at 13 kilometers north by 84 degrees from east of Sagbayan.

A magnitude 1.5 quake followed at 3:06 a.m. on July 10 which has a depth of 31 kilometers and its epicenter traced at eight kilometers north by 57 degrees from west of Alicia.

On July 11, Phivolcs recorded a magnitude 3.4 quake with a depth of four kilometers at four kilometers north by 11 degrees from east of Catigbian.

A magnitude 1.9 was recorded at 2:12 p.m. on July 4 which had a depth of 31 kilometers and its epicenter traced at five kilometers north by 33 degrees from east of Dagohoy.
