President Rodrigo Duterte has again endorsed Bohol as an attractive investment destination.
Duterte, speaking to tourism and business players in Davao City on Friday last week, recommended the Visayas particularly Bohol and Cebu as “very good” venues for investments.
“Upwards toward the north, the Visayas would be a good place to look and think of things that you can do or invest your money in those places… Cebu and Bohol are really good places to consider,” he said during the inauguration of the DusitD2 Davao Hotel.
Duterte made the endorsement after he said that he would not recommend any new investments in western Mindanao, citing the “law and order” situation of the region.
“I do not recommend any new economic activity or investment on the western side, especially in the islands there. I do not think that it would be prudent for you to consider it,” the President said.
It was not the first time that Duterte recommended Bohol as a good venue for investments this year.
In June, he included the province as among the new industrial destinations of the country which he presented to at least 20 Thai businessmen during a courtesy visit at the Waldorf Astoria in Bangkok, Thailand.
“I invite you to ride on the momentum of Philippine growth story and invest especially in the new industrial destinations of Metro Manila, Pampanga, Clark, Cebu, Bohol, and Davao,” he said.
