Bohol joins World Food Day

The Provincial Government of Bohol (PGBh) will join the whole world in celebration of World Food Day (WFD) on October 16, 2019, annually observed by 150 countries across the world.

This year WFD banners the theme “Our Actions Are Our Future Healthy Diets for A #Zero Hunger World,” aimed at raising awareness and to gain better support for the approaches that can help end world hunger.

Assistant Provincial Agriculturist Larry M. Pamugas who is the Provincial Nutrition Action Officer (PNAO) in Bohol said that preparations are underway to make the celebration more meaningful and successful.

Dr. Pamugas bared that as part of the preparations, there will be a meeting on Tuesday, 10 a.m. at the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist, 3rd Floor, Bohol Capitol Building, New Capitol Site, Cogon, Tagbilaran City to be attended by the heads or representatives of agri-related government agencies, farmer groups and other agri-stakeholders to assist the PGBh in conceptualizing the preferred actions to be undertaken fitting for the occasion.

Usually in similar activities, the PGBh would give recognition to farmers and growers who are considered as the backbone of the nation.

This would be the first celebration of the World Food Day under the administration of Gov. Arthur C. Yap and Vice Governor Rene L. Relampagos, as support to the pursuit of making Bohol hunger-free and Boholanos healthy. (Atoy Cosap)
