2 Bohol graduates top performers in licensure exams for teachers

Two graduates of Bohol schools emerged as among the top performers in the September 2019 Licensure Exam for Teachers (LET) which had over 220,000 examinees for both secondary and elementary levels, based on data released by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) on Sunday.

Mariz Balaba Tadle, a graduate of the Bohol Island State University (BISU) main campus in Tagbilaran City ranked 10th among aspiring high school teachers while Sandro Sobiono Anto, a graduate of the Buenavista Community College, ranked 8th in the elementary level of the exams.

Tadle garnered one of the highest marks among 136,523 examinees at the secondary level with a score of 90.60 percent.

Anto, on the other hand, scored 90.20 percent which was enough to land him at the eighth spot in the elementary level of the exams that was taken by 92,440 examinees.

According to the PRC, 28,973 elementary teachers out of 92,440 examinees (31.34%) and 54,179 secondary teachers out of 136,523 examinees (39.68%) passed the exams given on September 29, 2019.

The exams were held in 29 testing centers in various areas in the Philippines, Hong Kong and Thailand.

These were administrated by the Board for Professional Teachers comprised of Rosita L. Navarro, chairman; Paz I. Lucido, vice chairman; Paraluman R. Giron and Nora M. Uy, members.
