A suspected drug pusher listed in the Tagbilaran City police’s drug watch list was arrested by authorities in Panglao for alleged sale and possession of shabu during a drug buy-bust operation at dawn on Thursday.

Gary Gamo, 35, of Barangay Cogon in Tagbilaran City was caught in possession of 12 grams of shabu with an estimated worth of P81,600 based on the value set by the Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB), said Captain Neon Alvarez, chief of the Panglao Police Station.

Gamo allegedly sold shabu worth P1,000 to a police poseur-buyer during the operation at the Panglao Town Plaza in Barangay Poblacion.

According to Alvarez, Gamo surrendered in 2016 during the implementation of the Philippine National Police’s Oplan Tokhang and was later included in the Tagbilaran City police’s drug personality watch list.

The Tagbilaran City police informed Alvarez of Gamo’s alleged illegal drug operations which extended from the city to Panglao.

The sting operation against Gamo was then set in motion through the coordination between the Panglao and Tagbilaran Police Stations.

Gamo is now under the custody of the Panglao Police Station and is set to be charged with violations against Section 5 (sale) and Section 11 (possession) of Republic Act 9165, otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (AD)
