The Department of Justice (DOJ) on Monday released a list of names of newly appointed and promoted prosecutors by Malacañang, and two of them are Boholanos promoted to fill in vacancies at the Bohol Provincial Prosecutor’s Office.
Dexter Apostol Bernales and Godwin Basong Gamas were promoted to Prosecutor II and named Assistant Provincial Prosecutors of Bohol.
Bernales, an Ubay native, passed the Bar exam in 2000. Gamas, who earned his law degree at the Holy Name University, became a lawyer in 2009.
Bohol has one Provincial Prosecutor, one Deputy Provincial Prosecutor, seven Assistant Provincial Prosecutors and 14 Associate Provincial Prosecutors, as stipulated in Republic Act 10071, otherwise known as the Act Strengthening and Rationalizing the National Prosecution Service.
Bernales and Gamas were among 20 newly appointed and promoted prosecutors who will fill up various posts of the National Prosecution Service across the country. The rest are the following:
