A 39-year-old man who was supposedly only flagged down by police for traffic violations ended up being arrested for a drug charge in Tagbilaran City.
Lenmark Uy of Barangay Poblacion Baclayon was collared for drug possession at a police checkpoint manned by Lt. Ramon Rulona and his team in front of the St. Joseph’s Cathedral in Barangay Poblacion 1 on Thursday night.
In a report, police said that they stopped Uy for having no side mirrors and a number plate on his motorcycle.
He was allegedly seen grabbing items from his pocket which he threw before reaching the checkpoint.
Police immediately examined the discarded items and found out that these were sachets of white crystalline substance believed to be shabu.
Uy is now detained at the Tagbilaran City Police Station lock-up facility.
He will be charged with possession of illegal drugs. (wm)
