IT student, 20, nabbed for drugs in Buenavista

A college student tagged as a street-level drug personality by the police was as arrested in a drug buy-bust operation in Buenavista town on Wednesday night.

Paul Bitang, Jr., an information technology student at the Kangawa Community College, was collared by police after he allegedly sold shabu to an undercover cop.

Bitang admitted to using illegal drugs but denied allegations that he peddled the illegal substance.

In a report, police said that Bitang was spotted selling shabu in Barangay Kangawa in Buenavista.

This prompted operatives led by Captain Bonifacio Lucerna to set up the sting operation against him.

According to authorities, Bitang was caught in possession of one sachet of suspected shabu which was estimated to be worth P1,360.

He is now detained at the Buenavista Police Station lock-up jail pending the filing of drug charges against him. (wm)
