A Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) chairman was arrested by police for alleged sale of illegal drugs right outside the venue of a village ball, locally known as “bayli,’ which he organized in Clarin town on Saturday night.

In a report, police said that Joseph Gumapac, 23, was collared right outside the gate of the Cabog Elementary School in Barangay Cabog.

According to Captain Gregorio Bubole, chief of the Clarin Poilice Station, Gumapac previously surrendered under Oplan Tokhang but continued to sell illegal drugs.

Gumapac admitted to using illegal drugs but denied that he was selling the illegal substance.

Police however said that Gumapac sold shabu to a police poseur-buyer worth P500 leading to his immediate arrest.

He was also allegedly caught in possession of another packet of suspected shabu which weighed less than a gram.

Gumapac is now under the custody of the Clarin Police Station and is set to be charged with sale and possession of illegal drugs. (WM)
