Armed motorcycle-riding men who rode in tandem robbed an Indian national and his driver along a national highway in Trinidad town in broad daylight on Sunday.

The still unidentified suspects waited for Sarom Singh, 28, and driver Proven Cadungog, 24, who were riding a motorcycle from San Miguel to Trinidad before they held them up in Barangay Hinlayahan Ilaud at around 12:10 p.m., said Senior Master Sgt. Jeryper Cajes of the Trinidad Police Station.

Singh and Cadungog noticed the suspicious-looking individuals prompting them to flee towards the opposite direction but the suspects chased them and fired a warning shot.

The suspects then caught up with them and declared a robbery.

According to Cajes, the two robbers carted away a DVD player, component speaker, a cellphone and cash worth P7,000.

The suspects immediately fled the area while Singh and Cadungog immediately reported the incident to the police.

Responding police officers found spent shell fired from a .45 caliber pistol at the crime scene.

Meanwhile, investigators continued their investigation on the case to identify the robbers.

Cajes said that Singh and Cadungog were not able to see the suspects’ faces as they were wearing helmets and covered their faces with cloths. (A. Doydora)
