Bohol’s Tinampay to face Tanzanian foe

DAVAO CITY — Orthodox Arnel Tinampay of Bohol will face Hassan “Champez” Mwakinyo of Tanzania on Nov. 29 at Uhuru Stadium, Dar-Es-Salaam in Tanzania.

The 35-year-old Tinampay (26W-24L-1D, 12KO) previously knocked out Nelson Gulpe of Bohol in the 3rd round last Sept. 28 in Bohol.

However, Tinampay earlier lost to Nursultan Zhangabayery of Kazakhstan in the battle for the vacant WBC Asia Boxing Council super welterweight title last Dec. 23 in Russia.

Mwakinyo, on the other hand, is currently the Universal Boxing Organizational International super welterweight champion.

The 24-year-old Mwakinyo (15W-2L-0D, 11KO) has not lost since 2018.

He recently knocked out Sergio Eduardo Gonzales of Argentina in the 5th round last March 23 in Kenya.

Mwakinyo, earlier TKO’d Joseph Sinkala of Tanzania to win the vacant UBO International super welterweight title on Oct. 28 last year.

The promoter is Jay Msangi of Hall of Fame Boxing Promotion. (PNA)
