A 63-year-old woman died after she was accidentally rammed by a motorcycle along a national road in Jagna on Monday noon.

Staff Sgt. Leonardo Penido, Jr. of the Jagna Police Station identified the fatality as Honorata Abusejo of Barangay Cantagay Jagna.

According to Penido, the motorcycle’s driver, Nestor Namoc of Barangay Cansibaw, Valencia fell asleep causing him to unintentionally steer towards Abusejo who was crossing the road in Barangay Cantagay.

Namoc was uninjured while Abusejo sustained severe injuries.  

She was still rushed to the Teodoro Gallagar Memorial Hospital in Jagna and later transferred to the Governor Celestino Gallares Memorial Hospital in Tagbilaran City where she succumbed to her injuries in the afternoon of the same day.

Meanwhile, only the motorcycle was taken into police custody as Namoc was not detained.

Penido said that Namoc and the victim’s family reached an amicable settlement. (AD)
