A 24-year-old man died after his motorcycle crashed along a national road in Corella town at dawn on Monday, police said.

Senior Master Sgt. Teofredo Sinajon of the Corella Police Station identified the fatality as Jenevel Bongato of Danao town.

According to Sinajon, the victim was driving from Tagbilaran City to the direction of Balilihan when he crashed for still unknown reasons as there were no witnesses.

Sinajon said that there were no signs of collision against another vehicle.

He however noted that Bongato crashed along a sharp curve in Barangay Canangcaan.

The victim was also believed to have been under the influence of alcohol.

According to Sinajon, a bottle of Tanduay Rum was found inside the bag of Bongato.

Police probe also indicated that Bongato was not wearing a helmet during the incident. (ad)
