Great things are now happening around the real estate industry in Bohol.
First, the province has been lately identified as an emerging hot commodity in the real estate development in the entire country.
Second, the province’s leading real estate practitioners’ group, the Bohol Real Estate Board, Inc. (BOREB), has further strengthened its ranks.
And third, BOREB and the province will play hosts to the forthcoming Philippine Association of Real Estate Boards, Inc (PAREB) Visayas-Mindanao Regional Conference in July 26-27 this year.
PAREB is the oldest and largest real estate service organization in the country with around 50 chapters nationwide.
Bohol, with its premier tourist destination identity and growing middle class population induced by OFW connections and home-based professionals, has been blinking brightly in the national radar for real estate development.
Tourism-related ventures are sprouting and subdivision and condominium projects are gaining foothold that are not only changing the face of the province but also spurring much-needed economic development.
Being in the forefront of the real estate sector, BOREB is taking up the cudgel of professionalizing realty service in Bohol beset by the challenging presence of colorum practitioners.
Just recently BOREB elected its new set of officers and welcomed into its fold the addition of 14 new members.
Handling now the reins of BOREB leadership is Atty. Libby Casilan who was elected as the new president.
He succeeded Atty. Jun Amora who has been elected as national director of PAREB.
Together with Atty. Casilan, the other newly-elected BOREB officers are: Atty. Dennis Hora, vice president; Alma Bantugan, secretary; Chona Balagot, treasurer; Delia Magdales, assistant treasurer; Dave Maulas, presss relations officer; Anita Cabrera, auditor; and board directors – Atty. Tata Columnas, Atty. Doy Magdoza, Ammon Tirol, Gonie Manila-Dolotina and Marjon Lumayag.
The new BOREB officers took their oath of office last Friday, May 31 at the Alona Kew White Beach Resort in Panglao before the national officers of PAREB led by its chairperson of the board, Daphne Bereciarte, who were on a local board visitation task.
The PAREB officers were accompanied by some officers of the Cebu Real Estate Board, Inc. (CEREB) led by its new president, Coco de la Fuente.
The board visitation also augured well for the renewed BOREB as the latter is now in the thick of preparations for the hosting of the PAREB Vis-Min Regional Conference, also to be held at Alona Kew Beach Resort.
Around 300 delegates are expected to join the conference which also coincides with the Sandugo celebrations.
